looking in windows

this is a nice time of year. i don't like it so much as autumn, but i like the idea of it more. i like that we have a month to try to put stuff up on our free singles club that with get us all in the spirit. i don't know if we're up to the challenge, but we'll give it a shot. and i was thinking we'd make some of our best christmasy releases from last year available again... you know, for anyone who might have missed them. and then we have some nice things planned for the free singles club next year. i am excited to continue putting stuff out there that i love, and listen to new demos all the time. i feel very fortunate. hope everyone's doing well. i miss you.

  1. Autumn is my favorite too, but winter just has that warm, cozy, melancholy feel to it, doesn't it? Perfect for curling up by a fire and reading a good book or listening to that wonderfully depressing British music we all love so dearly... (On vinyl, of course...) There's just nothing quite like it!!

Although, at this point, I feel it's only fair that I mention the fact that it was a balmy 85 degrees here in Southern California this past weekend. That's right. Eighty-five degrees... A little surreal for a girl who grew up in wintry New England!

Anyhow, I'm very much looking forward to hearing some of the new music/bands you're into, Jacob... I hoping you're doing well, and I miss you, too! :)

  2. Dear Jacob,

Hope you have had a wonderful Xmas with lots of presents, chocolates, ... surrounded by all the people who mean the most to you in this world !
I wish you a poptastic 2011 ! Keep on keepin' on with all the great music you bring into our lives ! Holiday records is a real tonic and the love for the music you spread is such an inspiration! Thanks god for people like you in this sometimes cold and cynical world ! You lot are pure gold !

    love, baubles and snowdrops

from a snowbound Belgium (it started snowing on the night of the Drums concert and hasn't stopped since ... by the way, I loved the new song and also the introduction music ... sadly I missed the lovely Champagne Riot due to AB messing up the starting time ... I was a little bit sad by that cause I think they are pure pop perfection too).

    BArt
